Abdullah Ibn Mubarak was asked about Mu’aawiyah. He replied, “What should I say about a man who, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘Sami’Allaahu liman Hamidah’ (Allaah responds to the one who praises Him), Mu’aawiyah, standing behind him, said, ‘Our Lord to You belongs praise’.”
